Active MRP and Create Production Scheduler

Setting up and then running the MRP will create stock for your inventory. This in turn will allow you to complete a production run and create finished goods. Y will also define a production scheduler. This person is in charge of scheduling the production runs that SAP will use to predict material procurement.

Activate MRP

In this exercise you will activate materials requirement planning (MRP) for your plant. This will allow you to run the MRP process to stock raw material inventory previous to a production run.

From the IMG Screen: Materials Management è Consumption-Based Planningè Planning è Activate material requirements planning

  • Click on the Material requirements planning button.
  • Check and activate requirements planning for your plant.

Click Save.

Create Production Scheduler

From the IMG screen: Production è Shop Floor Control è Master Data è Define production scheduling profile

  • Click on the new entries button.
  • Enter your plant.
  • Enter 10, Release & Schedule.
  • Under Automatic Actions:
    • On creation: check release
    • On release: check schedule order

Click save.

Define Production Scheduler

From the IMG screen: Production è Shop Floor Control è Master Data è Define production scheduler

  • Click the new entries button.
  • Enter your plant.
  • Enter a Production Scheduler (S_ _)
  • Enter a description (name) for your scheduler.
  • Set the production scheduler profile to 10.

Click save.
