Controlling Activity Types

You will define an activity measure for assembling your finished good. We choose labor hours as this is the usual measure of such an activity. A cost will then be assigned to the activity (pay/hour).

Create Activity Type Labor

From SAP Easy Access: Accounting è Controlling è Cost Center Accounting è Master data è Activity type è Individual processing è Create

  • Click on Extras on the main tool bar, and select Set controlling area. Choose your company code.
  • Enter Labor for Activity type.
  • Valid from: 01/01/2003 to 12/31/9999
  • Click enter.
  • Name: Labor Hours
  • Activity hours: H
  • Cost center categories: F
  • Activity type categ.: 1
  • Cost element: 800000
  • Price indicator: 001
  • Click save.

Set Activity Prices

From SAP Easy Access: Accounting è Controlling è Cost Center Accounting è Planning è Activities output/prices è Change

  • Enter the following:
  • Version: 0
  • From period: 01
  • To period: 12
  • Fiscal year: 2003
  • Cost center group: MFG _ _
  • Activity type: Labor
  • Check entry: Free
  • Click the overview button (looks like a small mountain and sun)
  • For P010:
  • Plan activity: 100000 hours
  • Variable price: $18.00
  • Click on the black next or previous button to advance to P020.
  • Enter the same Plan activity level, and a different hourly wage.
  • Repeat the process for P030.
  • Click save.
